Employees are allocated an allowance for their monthly mobile telecoms spend. This rand value is defined by the employer, based on the employee's job description, grade, social circumstances etc. Allowances ensure that budgets are adhered to and subsequent exposure is limited.
The Split Billing feature provides an employer with the ability to set a rand value allowance (e.g. R300 monthly) and service restrictions (e.g. monthly allowance will not cover MMS usage) on an employee’s mobile account. The employee is thereafter responsible for any additional charges accrued on his account, for any usage over and above the allowance, as well as for services not permitted by the employer. Telkom Business Mobile will therefore run two debit orders on a single account, one for the employer and one for the employee.
