Satellite Services(SpaceStream)

Telkom's satellite services is sold under the SpaceStream brand name. As such we offer a number of SpaceStream products, each with its own area of application.

SpaceStream National and SpaceStream Multinational is typically used by entities requiring large point to multipoint or mesh WAN dedicated bandwidth networks. It only becomes cost effective in networks of at least 50 sites or more. As such, it would thus normally not fall within the scope or requirement of the average home user.

SpaceStream Express (SSE)

SSE offers a 512/128 kbps (download/upload) internet (HTTP) access connection with a minimum access cap of 500MByte

SSE is available anywhere within South Africa, regardless of geographical location.

SpaceStream Multinational (SSM)

A broadband, dedicated data, MPLS network service for customers with their Head Offices in South Africa or Africa, and requiring to connect their branches anywhere in Africa to their Head Offices or Regional Offices. Depending on location of the customer sites, operation may be in either Ku-Band or C-Band, SSM is available anywhere within Africa, as well as the islands off the African continent.

SpaceStream National (SSN)

A broadband, dedicated data, MPLS network service for customers with their Head Offices in South Africa and requiring to connect their branches within South Africa to their Head Offices or Regional Offices. SSN is available anywhere within South Africa, regardless of geographical location.

SpaceStream Office (SSO)

SSO offers up to 4 toll quality telephone and/or fax lines plus a best effort 512/128 kbps (download/upload) internet access (HTTP) access connection with a minimum access cap of 500MByte. SSO is available anywhere within South Africa, regardless of geographical location.
