Your Telkom account manager can assist you with the scoping of your needs into a requirement statement document which is forming the basis of the solution development process in order to establish a working network for your exact business needs.
The following elements are being billed for:
- Main site access -
For the main site access a standard VPN Supreme port is utilised. The price of this VPN Supreme port is depending on the speed (Mbps), the service level agreement, as well as the specific Cisco router model used. For the VPNs Supreme port there is an installation fee as well as a monthly rental payable. More than one main site access is permitted to enable operational requirements, risk reduction or disaster recovery.
- Realm -
The domain name or realm rental is R 216.60 per month per realm. The once-off installation fee of each realm is R 39.90. Any specific company may have more than one realm, depending on operational requirements.
- ADSL Subscription -
ADSL Subscriptions are offered on the following volume and term discount matrix

- Dial-up Subscription -
The monthly rental for dial-up subscription is R40.76 per user and there are no volume and term discounts applicable on the dial-up subscriptions. All Telkom Mobility points of presence (POPs) are
ISDN enabled to allow for higher transfer speeds. The ISDN multilinking subscription allows for 128Kbps data transfer and the subscription fee is R 111.61 per month.
- GPRS/3G Subscription -
Telkom is offering GPRS and 3G access from within the GSM network of 8•ta.
For GPRS and 3G access Telkom is providing you with a virtual circuit between Telkom’s Internet Protocol
network and your Corporate APN on 8•ta’s network. The virtual circuit’s cost is depending on the access speed it allows for. You also need to apply for an APN directly from 8•ta and then certify that the GPRS
and 3G users need to connect through to the Telkom SAIX network. Your Telkom account manager can
coordinate this network enhancement for you between Telkom and 8•ta.
Note: You may have ADSL subscriptions and/or Dial-up subscriptions and/or GPRS/3G subscriptions. There is no installation fee on ADSL and dial-up subscriptions.
