Product overview
T-Zone is Telkom's HotSpot service that provides wireless data access, using state of the art technology. Any user with a wireless enabled notebook computer or SmartPhone / Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) can connect to the T-Zone service while in the coverage area. T-Zones provide basic wireless access through a standardised wireless protocol to connect to the Internet and corporate networks.

Features
- In order to use a T-Zone hotspot, users need to purchase airtime. You can select to pay for airtime by means of a cash voucher or by using your credit card for online purchasing via a 3D secure banking facility.
- As of 2010 an IEEE 802.11 device is installed in many personal computers, video game consoles, smart-phones, printers, and other peripherals, and virtually all laptop or palm-sized computers.
- Your voucher may be used worldwide at more than 100 000 Global Broadband Internet Access Alliance (GBIA) roaming partners. This also means that vouchers bought at any GBIA roaming partner may be used at any of our T-Zones.

- Wireless data access can provide you with connectivity while away from the office;
- Standardized technology like the 802.11b or 802.11g will allow users to benefit from economies of scale to get access through the most popular wireless LAN interface technology;
- A national roll out of integrated HotSpots allow users to connect to any of the HotSpots by making use of the same account and configuration;
- The user will experience an "always available" connection similar to ADSL while in a T-Zone;
- The broadband access allows for faster downloading of information or Email.
